Google it

I had a recent encounter with one of my students that I thought you all would enjoy...

I was sitting around, doing some work when a 9th grader came up to me and said,

9th grader: What's up Easy Breezy?
Me: What? Why would you call me that? Some friends of mine used to call me that.
9th grader: I know. I googled you yesterday.
Me: You googled me?! Oh boy. What did you see?
9th grader: I looked at some team website and it said something about Honduran jungles and machetes.
Me: Ahh, the Pounce website.
9th grader: That was it! Pounce! Why did you say that you would have a machete in Honduras, Miss?
Me: Uhhh...no reason.
9th grader: You're strange, Miss Easy Breezy.

So, I have learned that the next time I decide to put something up on the internet I should be more careful about what my students will find out...or I should just not give them my real name...that might be easier.

Huh - alright, I googled myslef. Besides Pounce and Pittsburgh ultimate, the top results are as follows:

- Jenny Pack n' Play portable playard
- Jenny Wolfe & The Pack (rock/pop)
- and then various people carrying Jenny's Pack

googling erin montoya:

1. pittsburgh ultimate profile
2. my design website
3. pounce profile
4. the rest are a bunch of links to info about the soccer player Erin Montoya. one quick description of a link says, "Erin Montoya is a popular...world class player."

can't argue with that.
